Rocky Creek is a popular picnic spot for the North Coast locals. The edges of the creek are dominated by warm temperate rainforest.

The cool moist habitat is home to a diversity of species. The trees have simple, thin cylindrical trunks and there are rarely more than 15 species in the canopy.
