The Digital Darkroom

This short course will introduce you to the concepts of the Digital Darkroom (the methods of using photoshop or photoshop elements in a non-destructive way to process and enhance your images the way professional photographers at a senior level do). You will learn to use a digital workflow, the raw converter, to make adjustment layers and masks, custom white and black points, how to use curves and levels, contrast masking and the proper use of unsharp masking. The various ways of converting colour to black & white will also be addressed. Comprehensive course notes are supplied.

Outcome:

Participants will learn to creat high quality image files suitable for offset printing (brochures/books) inkjet prints and on-line/web display.

Prerequisites:

A beginners level of understanding in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or Lightroom.

Course duration:

One day workshop - 9:30am - 4:30pm. Next workshop in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
