Australia's largest mainland marsupial carnivore explores the forest floor at dusk. Although suited to an arboreal existence, time is spent foraging at ground level where they often track on fallen logs.

Food can be up to the size of a small wallaby, but quolls more often elect for insect prey. This healthy adult was feeding on Bogong Moths.

After standing by my tripod for two hours, the quoll finally entered the frame. Later, it was joined by two others who played and hunted by my feet.
